On September 6, 2021, Vivo's "Core image" themed image technology sharing conference was officially held. In the face of complex light, dark light scenes, extreme night scenes and numerous video shooting scenes, the image computing power and chip power consumption of mobile phones need to be further upgraded and evolved.


Finally, Vivo gave the answer with its own professional image chip V1 after 24 months of in-depth cooperation with mobile SoC manufacturers and more than 300 people involved in r&d.


As a fully customized integrated chip with special specifications, professional image chip V1 cooperates with the main chip, and has the characteristics of high computing power, low delay and low power consumption.


In a given service, V1 can process complex operations at a high speed like CPU, and complete data parallel processing like GPU and DSP. Facing a large number of complex operations, V1 has an exponential improvement in energy efficiency ratio compared with DSP and CPU.


In order to maximize its simultaneous processing capacity, Vivo optimized the data storage architecture and high-speed read and write circuit inside the chip to achieve an equivalent 32MB large cache, full on-chip storage. Beyond the current part of flagship desktop computer processors, low latency real-time noise reduction frame insertion.


In addition, on the basis of the powerful imaging capability of the main chip ISP, the imaging algorithm in the professional image chip V1 is superimposed. When processing the same computational tasks at a high speed, the power consumption of the hardware circuit can be reduced by 50% compared with the software implementation.

Ultra-low dispersion and high permeability glass lenses break through the ceiling of mobile phone optical devices

AOA dynamic optical calibration process is adopted to adjust the lens thickness error and lens eccentricity error caused by the resolution reduction, to ensure the optical quality of the final lens.


Multiple coating to suppress glare ghost, and Zeiss together to establish a high standard of the industry


Since its birth, Zeiss T* coating has always been a skill of Zeiss, but also a powerful guarantee of high quality imaging. Thanks to this, Vivo Zeiss has joined hands to apply advanced coating technology to mobile phone lenses, bringing imaging effects comparable to professional cameras.


In the face of dazzling light and ghosting and other traditional problems in the industry, Vivo innovatively introduced SWC coating technology. Based on the principle of bionics, the reflected light is fully suppressed, and the reflectivity is reduced to 0.1%, greatly improving the purity.
